So as you know my husband and I are having our first baby in September.
WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!
So with that in mind I have been on the look out for some great fabric to make her a quilt. I have decided that I did not want to make a super girly barbie pink room so it took some time to find just the right fabric. I was looking for something fun and bright and this is what I found:
The fabric is from Fabric Worm which I heard about from Shannon at Luvinthemommyhood who has a wonderful crafting blog that I highly recommend you start reading. There is tones of sewing information as well as knitting info. She makes me want to move back to Victoria all the time!
I placed my order today and cannot wait to see the fabric in person; I am sure it will be just wonderful. Now time to pick a pattern :) Oh and I ordered the 1/2 yard bundle so I will have some extra fabric for pillows or some other fun accessory.
Stay tuned to see where this adventure will take me!

Quick drop in
Just stopping in for a quick post to show you that I have not been neglecting my knitting :)
Life around here has been crazy; with all the dr's appointments, house work, and fencing in our backyard I feel that I have had no time lately. So as I fished through my knitting basket I noticed that I really did have time at least to start some projects for our new baby:

This will soon be a pair of red booties
This is going to be a baby blanket if all the garter stitch does not kill me first
So yeah, lots to finish up before I start anything new. Well at least that is the plan :)

Long time away
Okay so some of you might have noticed that I have fallen off the face of the earth. It is all for a very good reason I must admit.
Over the last almost 4 months I have been absolutely exhausted and felt no desire what so ever to do any knitting. I have been looking at patterns and craving some yarn shopping but that's it. I am hoping I have gotten the itch to stitch again as I have just started a neutral garter stitch baby blanket as I do not yet know the sex of our baby.
I really think once I know what this 'bean' is I will be full blown knitting and sharing lots of pictures with you all!
Stay tuned!

My friday :)
So I started the day off with making some cinnamon swirl bread in my new bread machine; it smells so wonderful
Then I took the boys for a walk since it was so nice a crisp out after the snowfall last night,
Then it was time for Maverick to take his nap in the usual place ...
... while I did some selfish knitting
What have you done today?

Quilting Fun
So I have had a sewing machine for quite awhile now but I have been intimidated by the thought. It took me, my husband, and some help from you tube to get a bobbin wound, machine threaded, and everything ready to go!
I follow 'Luvinthemommyhood' blog and was inspired by her quilt here.
The pattern tutorial is found her on Polkadot Chair blog.
I then ventured to Walmart to get some fabric (mine has these cute fat quarters pre-bundled) then came home to cut them up into my rectangles.
Stay tuned to see what happened next!
