TTT KAL Finished Cardi Post - Better late than never

Gahhh where did the time fly. It has been super crazy here with a teething baby and summer weather slowly approaching.

I am finally getting to sit at the computer to show you my wonderful finished card. I am absolutely in love with it and I am wearing it all the time in the mornings and evenings as it still gets a little cool here. the open front and 3/4 length sleeves are just perfect for this type of weather.

So with out further ado here it is :) (my wonderful instagram collage hehe)

Ravelry Project Page: here

And if you haven't yet had a chance to see the 'Staring You' post my Shannon, hop on over to Luvinthemommyhood to see the wonderful round up of projects. Everyone did such a great job. My 'to knit' list has definitely grown over this knit long.

And have you seen the prizes!!!!! OMG I have my fingers crossed that is for sure :)

TTT KAL Update

Just pics :) since it has been crazy busy around here

I am almost done the second sleeve and will hopefully get it blocking before I go to bed tonight :) Stay tuned for the pre block photo and the blocked photo. I am interested to see how much the yarn grows after reading everyones comments. I am hoping to get some room in the sleeves and a little extra length.
Then all that is left is the collar/button bands. I can see the finish line!!

p.s. there has been a deadline extension. Finish time is now May 28th!! I am totally going to make it.

How have your projects been coming along?

TTTKAL - Week 2 update

So my goal for this week was to have the body done on this cardi.

Well that did not happen and for a good reason :) My baby started crawling this week!! We had figured it would happen soon and we are so excited to see her getting her move on. However, this is seriously cramping my knitting style because I am forever chasing her and removing her from the dog beds. I am not complaining though. I now just knit mainly while she is napping during the day or when my husband is home or when she is asleep at night.

Here is a progress shot form last night :)

I have just 4 more front shaping increases and then I will measure and see how much more plain knitting I have until the ribbing :) I love how this is turning out and cannot wait to wear it. It is very warm here now so I might not really get to wear it that much.

This weeks goal: Finish the body and get a at least one arm done

How is your KAL project coming? Have you been working on any new projects? Let me know :)

TTA KAL - Week One Update

So the first week of the Tops Tanks and Tees Knit Along is over and I am proud to report that I have made excellent progress on my cardi :) I am just so excited to show you how much I have got done.

The pattern calls for reverse stockinet stitch to be the right side of the fabric but i am just in love with how the stockinet side is looking so I will be using that s the right side. I am still not sure what stitch I will do for the collar and button bands. Still looking at Ravelry projects for ideas :)

Here is what I have done so far:

I am hoping that by next wednesday I will have the body completed on the cardi so I can try it on and show you all how it is looking. This might be wishful thinking on my part lol as I am a somewhat slow knitter.

And I just have to say that this yarn so wonderful to work with! Quince and Co Tern in Columbine.

So I am off to get some more knitting done and have my second cup of coffee for the day :)

What is on your needles at the moment or are you participating in this KAL? I would love to hear from you.

Buttons!

Finally this wonderful little hoodie has buttons! I am just thankful they finally came in before my little girl got to big to wear this; She still has some time to go before it will fit :)

The buttons are from Oruaka. I absolutely love his buttons and his shop supplies excellent customer service. Please check it out and get some wonderful handmade wood buttons for yourself :)

Finished Object Friday

Pattern: Puerperium Cardigan
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino
Project link

For this Puerperium Sweater I choose to do it in a pullover style with short sleeves. I found that the first one I made as per the pattern was a bit much when dealing with a squirmy baby; there was just too many buttons to get done up.

So now the 3 button version is great! And I think she likes it as well

Have a great weekend :)

Finished Object Friday - Berry Seed Hoody

Last night I finally sat down with this cute little hoody and ripped out the ugly button bands. After some carefully picking up the correct number of stitches and paying close attention to Jane's instructions I am proud to say that this cute little sweater is now done! Well except for buttons but I am going out today to get some :)

This sweater was the project I choose for Luvinthemommyhood's Summer Sweater Knit Along and I could not be happier with how it turned out. This was my second time knitting this pattern and I loved it as much as the first time, well maybe a bit more since the sweater is for my own sweet little girl. I decided to knit the 24 month size because I have a feeling that as she gets bigger and life gets busier with chasing her around I will not have as much knitting time, especially if Daddy has his way and we give her sibling before her second birthday :)

Here is all the info and pictures:

Work in progress Wednesday

So I have cast on for two new sweaters. The Puerperium cardigan was a great knit the last time I made it so I decided to knit another one up for my little one. I am finding it hard to find sweaters small enough for my little preemie so this pattern is great for cute little sweaters. The raglan sweater for me is going very well so far. Jane is a great pattern writer and I cannot wait to get to the body so I can try it on as I go.

One for my tiny daughter,

And one for me (or maybe my mom if she steals it),

Stay tuned for more on these two lovely orange creations :)

Mila's Babe Pullover

Yet another sweater for my little girl :) The pattern was easy and straightforward. I found that it was tight working on a circular needle but not too bad. For the collar I used the magic loop method. The lace pattern was easy to follow but I found that I should have maybe gone up a needle size for that section the give a looser look. I was also unable to get my YOs to look similar. I also found that it knit up slightly small even though I got the correct gauge. See project notes for more details.

Grey Mist Cardigan

Finally finally finally!

I have finally finished my summer knit along sweater from last years knit along! Last blogged about here.

Pattern: Calligraphy Cardigan
Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed DK

Sorry that these photos are slightly blurry. I am pretty happy with this sweater as it was my first adult sized piece. After blocking and putting the buttons on I found that the fabric is slightly too loose for the weight of the buttons and cause the button band and collar to droop slightly. If I were to knit this again I would use a heavier yarn and possibly add pockets. I would also do long sleeves as shown in the pattern; my short sleeves work well with the light weight fabric made by the rowan yarn. A perfect fall/spring sweater.

Little Green Bean

So this is the 2nd sweater for Baby Girl (see here for the first)

The pattern: Puerperium Cardigan by Kelly Brooker
Yarn: Sirdar Snuggly DK
Needles: US7

Can you see a sweater in this picture?

Ah, now we have some arm holes...

Watch out for those lady bugs ...

Finished! and oh so cute

This pattern was absolutely wonderful to knit; i can see my self knitting at least one more for myself and maybe one for a another little baby I know who is making an appearance in December. I just have to say that babies are popping out everywhere, it's a good thing.

I've joined a knit along!!

Okay so I have joined my first knit along with Luvin the Mommy Hood! I am so excited to be apart of this and to watch all the great sweaters that will be produced. I am also hoping that this will help me complete this project at a reasonable pace. By joining this group I feel more confident in this project because I will have a group to go to when I run into a problem or have questions as this is going to be my first adult garment.

The pattern I choose to use was the Calligraphy Cardigan by Hannah Fettig

The yarn is Rowan Tweed DK in Grey Mist

And here is the progress so far:

So I have completed the ribbed neck and have just started the increases for the shoulders. Everything is going okay so far. I did have to you tube how to do the M1L and M1R stiches; I'm assuming I'm doing them right but we will see as I do a couple more :S

Stay tuned :)
